West Lancashire Borough Council&#39;s engagement hub where local residents can share ideas, discuss important topics, provide feedback and contribute to the future of West Lancs. &nbsp;The Council is committed to informing, consulting and involving local people and we are keen to gather views from residents and communities.

Welcome to Your Voice West Lancashire

Since 2014, the Council has charged a levy on developers for carrying out certain new developments across the Borough called the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). The money we raise can be used to pay for a wide range of community infrastructure that is needed to support the new development. This can include transport schemes, green spaces and community facilities.The Council plans to use most of the money collected to help deliver large scale infrastructure projects, such as new leisure centres and green infrastructure. Due to higher costs, it takes time to save up CIL monies for these types of projects.Alongside these higher cost projects, we allocate up to &pound;200,000 each year to smaller projects, each seeking less than &pound;50,000 of CIL, that can be delivered in the short term.We have received 8 bids for projects that wish to seek CIL funding this year. Project proposals have also been submitted that have requested to be included in our Infrastructure Delivery Schedule and that may wish to apply for CIL funding in the future. We would like to hear your views on all the projects submitted this year.There are two types of CIL funding that the Council collects and retains for allocation and spending.<ul style="margin-bottom:0cm;margin-top:0cm;" type="disc"><li style='margin-top:5.0pt;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:5.0pt;margin-left:0cm;line-height:normal;font-size:15px;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#414141;text-align:justify;background: white;'>Strategic CIL Funding can be allocated and spent across the borough.</li><li style='margin-top:5.0pt;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:5.0pt;margin-left:0cm;line-height:normal;font-size:15px;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#414141;text-align:justify;background: white;'>Neighbourhood CIL (NCIL) Funding for Skelmersdale and Ormskirk.</li></ul> Where no Parish Council exists, such as in Skelmersdale and Ormskirk, the Council retain the parish portion of CIL money and identifies projects within those areas that may require funding support.
