Consultation has concluded
West Lancashire Borough Council want to understand the views of our trade waste customers regarding the possible introduction of separate food waste and recycling collections:
Paper & cardboard
Comingled (Plastics, glass, and metals)
In April 2025 the Government are introducing new legislation:
Simpler recycling collections which will see the same materials collected from homes, workplaces, and schools.
All non-household municipal premises in England must arrange for the separate collection of food waste and dry recyclable waste streams (excluding plastic films).
To help us develop new services to meet the new legislation we want to hear your views. Please spare 10 minutes of your time to complete this short survey.
Your feedback is important to us, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

From April 2025 West Lancashire Borough Council are looking to introduce two new collection services for our trade waste customers:
Food waste collections – weekly collections.
Recycling collections (paper & cardboard and comingled) – regular collections to be confirmed, subject to uptake and route design.
The new services would include bin hire, collection, and disposal costs as with your current trade waste collection.
Utilising the new services would reduce the amount of general waste to be disposed of and would mean we could offer all of your waste and recycling services as one supplier.
