Under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, West Lancashire Borough Council have a Public Space Protection Order relating to dog fouling and other dog-control related matters.
The Public Space Protection Order require/s a person in control of a dog to comply with conditions including:
Dogs to be kept on leads in certain locations
Dogs to be excluded from certain locations
The immediate removal of dog faeces
The current Public Space Protection Order is due to expire in March 2026. In preparation we are engaging with the public to seek your views on the renewal of the order for a further 3 years.
