We’re inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to help shape the future of their community and guide decisions about Digmoor.

Pride in Place is bringing up to £20 million of investment into Digmoor, Skelmersdale, over 10 years. This funding will be used to improve what matters most to local people, including:

  • High streets and empty shops
  • Parks and green spaces
  • Community and youth facilities
  • Safety and tackling antisocial behaviour
  • Jobs, skills and local opportunities

Decisions will be made locally by a Neighbourhood Board made up of residents, businesses, and community representatives.


Who we’re looking for

We want people who reflect the local area, including:

  • Residents in Digmoor
  • People employed in Digmoor
  • Volunteers in Digmoor
  • People from the public sector / anchor institutions (e.g. education, health, emergency services)
  • VCFSE – Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector
  • Local businesses

You don’t need formal qualifications — just:

  • A passion for your community
  • A desire to make a difference
  • The ability to work with others


What you’ll do

As a Board member, you will:

  • Help shape a long-term plan for Digmoor
  • Identify local priorities
  • Influence how funding is spent
  • Ensure projects meet community needs

What happens next

Applications will be shortlisted by the Independent Chair, with support from the Council and the local MP, and applicants will be invited for an informal discussion.
