We’re inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to help shape the future of their community and guide decisions about Digmoor.
Pride in Place is bringing up to £20 million of investment into Digmoor, Skelmersdale, over 10 years. This funding will be used to improve what matters most to local people, including:
High streets and empty shops
Parks and green spaces
Community and youth facilities
Safety and tackling antisocial behaviour
Jobs, skills and local opportunities
Decisions will be made locally by a Neighbourhood Board made up of residents, businesses, and community representatives.
Who we’re looking for
We want people who reflect the local area, including:
Residents in Digmoor
People employed in Digmoor
Volunteers in Digmoor
People from the public sector / anchor institutions (e.g. education, health, emergency services)
VCFSE – Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector
Local businesses
You don’t need formal qualifications — just:
A passion for your community
A desire to make a difference
The ability to work with others
What you’ll do
As a Board member, you will:
Help shape a long-term plan for Digmoor
Identify local priorities
Influence how funding is spent
Ensure projects meet community needs
