We have been informed of the government’s decision on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) in Lancashire.
Subject to Parliamentary approval [number] new unitary councils will be created, replacing all 15 existing councils, including ours.
We want to reassure you that for now, it is very much business as usual as we continue to provide excellent services to our residents.
We also want to thank you for your continued professionalism and dedication. The work you do every day makes a real difference, and that will remain the foundation of what comes next.

Tuesday 28 July 2026, 2pm in the Chamber at Derby Street
Thursday 30 July 2026, 2:30pm over teams
