Consultation has concluded
Thank you to everyone who participated in the review of the Whole Council Election leaflet, your feedback is now being analysed.
The comments receive will be considered and the final leaflet will be issued in March with the annual council tax letters.
West Lancashire Borough Council has adopted new Electoral Ward Boundaries as a result of the recently completed Electoral Review with the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
To bring these boundaries into force, we are required to have Whole Council elections to elect Councillors to represent these new Electoral Ward Boundaries.
Whole Council elections means that every seat on the Council is up for election, and all Councillors will be elected at the same time.
Whole Council elections require the public to cast their votes for up to 3 candidates, rather than the usual single candidate choice.
The public do not need to use all 3 of their votes, but if they don’t then those votes will be classed as unused and wasted.
To highlight this different from normal elections in West Lancashire, we have produced this leaflet that we will send to all households ahead of the elections in May.
We would like to hear your opinion on this leaflet to ensure that its message is as clear and simple for the public to understand and take action if they need to.
