Public Space Protection Order - Dog Control Survey

Under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, West Lancashire Borough Council have a Public Space Protection Order relating to dog fouling and other dog-control related matters.

The Public Space Protection Order require/s a person in control of a dog to comply with conditions including:

  • Dogs to be kept on leads in certain locations
  • Dogs to be excluded from certain locations
  • The immediate removal of dog faeces

The current Public Space Protection Order is due to expire, in preparation we are engaging with the public to seek your views on the renewal of the order for a further 3 years and the introduction of dogs with the exception of guide dogs being banned from two new children's play areas.

    West Lancashire Borough Council have a Public Space Protection Order which shows the places in the borough where dogs are banned from and also the areas where dogs must be kept on a lead. 

    The current order is due to expire, and we are seeking the views from the public in order to extend the order for a further 3 years.
