Consultation has concluded
Phase two - Allocations Policy Review
Phase two is now closed.
In July 2022 West Lancashire Borough Council invited tenants who had been rehoused and those with a live Homefinder application to share their views and comments on our current Allocations Policy.
Following analysis of the feedback, we invited tenants to review the revised policy in February 2023 to make sure it is clear and easy to understand. You can review the full policy here.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed the changes made to the policy.
Phase one - Allocations Policy Consultation
Phase one is now closed.
In West Lancashire the demand for social housing has grown, and West Lancashire Borough Council currently have over 1300 applicants on the Council's Housing Register waiting for a home 🏡
We are required by law to have an Allocations Policy, which explains how we prioritise the allocation of social housing, the criteria, and the procedures that we follow.
Whilst the policy is mainly directed by legislation and guidelines set by the government, there is scope to set a policy which reflects the local needs of residents.
We last reviewed the policy in 2018 and now feel it is the right time to review the policy and procedure again, we are inviting tenants who have recently been rehoused and those with a live Homefinder application to share their views and comments
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Housing Allocations Policy consultation, your feedback is now being analysed and will be used to frame the new Allocations Policy and ensure the process is fair, open, and transparent.
