If you haven't already, check out Four Million Homes. Funded by the government, Four Million Homes provides free knowledge, guidance and training for residents.

The Four Million Homes Programme is open to all social housing residents in England and designed to raise tenants awareness of their rights and drive a process of cultural change leading to a better balance of power between residents and landlords.

Launched in April 2023, the Four Million Homes programme has been advertised as a “Watchdog-style” ‘know your rights’ training scheme.

It follows the launch of the Make Things Right campaign in March, which encouraged social housing tenants to complain about sub-standard housing.

More than 100 people from the government’s 250-strong Social Housing Quality Resident Panel have volunteered to support delivery of the new training programme.

The scheme will put on free accredited training events in Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham and London. Beginning in May 23, these sessions will run over two years and advise tenants of their rights and how to make complaints through the Housing Ombudsman.
